Jonothon Lyons is an interdisciplinary theatre artist living in New York City. He has performed as a Blueman in Blue Man Group and is currently a principal cast member in the hit Off-Broadway production Sleep No More. As a puppeteer his work includes Moisés Kaufman’s El Gato con Botas at the New Victory Theatre, Basil Twist’s Petrushka and Dogugaeshi, and Anthony Minghella’s Madama Butterfly at The Metropolitan Opera. He was a performing company member with the LeCoq based physical theatre company Imago Theatre for four years and has toured internationally with their signature productions Frogz and Biglittlethings.

He wrote and directed The Tenement, an original mask theatre production which ran at HERE Arts Center in 2009 and at Arizona State University in 2013. The Tenement was nominated for eight 2010 New York Innovative Theatre Awards including Outstanding Production of a Play and Jonothon won the award for Outstanding Original Short Script. 

He has also designed and built masks and props for his own work and other artists including portrait artist Iké Udé and the immersive film screening company BBQFilms. 

Jonothon is the recipient of a 2013 Jim Henson Foundation Seed Grant for Ensō, a new work of puppet theatre currently in development.
